So the other day I had a bit of a spree, I haven't had one in a long while, reviews to follow in the coming weeks for certain items, but for now I just wanted to share what I'd bought.

1. Maybelline super 24 hour stay in 240-Plum Seduction from boots £8.99
Maybelline 14hr lipstick in 510-non stop red from boots £8.99 (these are currently 3 for 2 my friend
     had the other one)
Natural Collection Lipstick in a sheer natural called sherbet from Boots £1.99
Natural Collection eyeshadow shade in Barley from Boots £1.79
The Plum Seduction is a nice dark plum and very high shine, the non stop red is really really
red and is a beautiful color. The natural collection sherbet is a very nude skin tone but has
some glitter in it and finally the eyeshadow is just a beautiful creamy, natural shade.

2. Is a top from George for only £5, it has lace details on the shoulders and the back, its baggy
    but is also forgiving.
3. A black leather belt with gold chain detail cost me £1.
4. The second top I bagged is from H&M and cost me £3, which I thought was a pure bargain its
a spring orange with lace detail on the shoulder and is a butterfly style, its tight but in all the
    right places.
5. Cuff link earring from Claires it was £4.50
6. Drop flower style earring from Claires these cost me £4, I also have a pair of butterfly hoops
as it was 3 for 2 but the photos came out to bad to use.
7. A set of two belts in a dark silver and a gold copper these were £1.50 from George.

And finally a best friend shamballa style bracelet that I gave the other half to Laura, this just seemed appropriate at the time and make us feel 12 for a few hours.

Nostalgia can be a big thing when you are buying things, especially when you mix old ideas with new fashions, these cost £7 and I think they were worth it, if not for the nostalgia at least for the fun factor of reliving your teens.

So I spent about £45 today when you add it all together and I feel that I walked away with a good few choices for this money and if not, who cares, I am a woman and shopping is in me!

Monday was a normal day to most people, went to work, looked after the kids, not for me. For me it was my 27th Birthday and to be fair it was one of the best birthdays Ive had in a long time. A lot of my birthdays since I was 18 have been ok but not good. This year I was spoiled and am still looking forward to one more night out, courtesy of Laura as the final celebration.
Lots of presents, went out for a meal and just generally had lots of fun, roll on next year!

I found a site with the recipe for a DIY Lip Scrub here and I felt compelled to do it myself. I'm not really one for making things myself, I tend to leave it to the people that know best, but as this was so simple and easy I felt that I had to try it. The original turorial link above is much more indepth of properties of ingredients and better photos, but I felt I needed to give it a go to show just how easy it was to make!
Picture
all you need is

2 tablespoons of pure coconut oil
2 tablespoons of honey
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
a mixing bowl
some small pots to put your finished scrub into.

Put the two tablespoons of pure coconut oil in your mixing bowl and add the two tablespoons of honey, mix them together until they form a paste. If the mixture is a little too gooey add a little bit more coconut oil into it.
Make sure you get out all the lumps out of the coconut oil and that it is covered in the honey completely, this is the longest part of the whole process and does give your arm a work out too!
Picture
once it has got to the right paste like consistency add the two teaspoons of brown sugar and mix well, if you have any oil from the coconut oil in the bottom of your jar you could add a teaspoon to your mixture to smooth it out more and too give added moisturisation to your scrub.

Once all the brown sugar is mixed into the mixture and covered well, its time to put it into the pots that your have ready and waiting. you can use anything, I had some small jars around but you can use baby food jars or herb pots, whatever you have around.

Once finished store in fridge and it should keep for 2 weeks.

I have used it and it really is moisturising and makes your lips soft.It feels strange after you have used it as if you have been kissing someone for ages, lips feel slightly numb and tender, but not painful at all, after 20 mins the feeling goes and your left with soft lips that feel well moisturied.

I make a pot for my friend Laura as well as myself. I will be making this more often as its a damn site cheaper than any other scrub i've seen!

I found this tag by Lianey of thelianey and I felt that I needed to do it to, Its a nice one that is quite drilling around your day to day beauty life.

Is your hair curly or straight?
My hair is straight, I need to use straighteners to get is sleek, and if I use a bobble it will automatically give me a kink, but it is straight.

What is your natural hair colour?
Urgh, I hate my nautral colour, it is a dark dark blonde that almost looks brown and it always looks greasy so I dye it all the time.

Do you dye it yourself or go to the salon?
Normally myself, I have done hightlights and gone from dark brown to blonde with the aid of a hairdresser but I like to do it myself and save myself a few pounds.

How often do you wash your hair?
Generally I wash my hair every other day, sometimes in the winter I may leave it 3 days and a lot of times in summer I do it everyday, It really just depends.

Do you wear the same style everyday or change it?
I tend to throw my hair up into a pony, as I'm not very original, I will sometimes have a play around and do twists or a french braid coming over my fringe line to the side, but its normally in a pony during the day and down for bed.

Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I like to play around with my own nails, I have never really done a pedi, not as detailed as I do with a mani. I have gone a few times to have my nails done, at one point I had false nails, but have now grown mine out and I am enjoying learning to style them.

How often do you change your nail polish?
I change them between 2 or 3 times a week, depending on work or if they get worn down.

Do you polish your toes in winter or just in summer?
My feet stay covered, so I rarely do them. but summer is more likely than winter.

How long does it take to put on your makeup?
Depending on my look, if its everyday it takes me 5 minutes, if I want to go more indepth its 10-15, and for a special occasion or night out it can take me 25.

What do you do first, face or eyes?
I normally do my face first, but if I am choosing an eyeshadow that has a lot of fall out I will do my eyes first.

Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I collect. I keep my make up far too long to never really throwing anything out til i hit pan or it dries up, I have more than I could use for the rest of my life, but I still want more.

How often do you wear false eye lashes?
I can't get on with false lashes, they never stick for me, so I stick to mascara.

Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
This really depends on my mood, but not normally, I have only 4 product that I tend to use on a day to day basis, bbcream, mascara, eye liner and a lip gloss/stick.

Do you wear makeup when your home alone, or with family?
No, I'm normally natural and don't really care.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
I have no problem leaving house without make up, but 8/10 days I need make up to cheer me up.

How many high end products do you have?
I have a few, but not lots, 2 foundations, 1 mascara, 2 nail varnishes, 1 primer, 1 highligher, 1 concealer, 1 lipgloss,  a few eye shadows.

How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
Normally about 2-3 weeks, I should do it more often, but im just too lazy.

Do you plan your OOTD every night or when you're getting dressed?
Only as I'm getting dressed, not often that I plan things like that.

How often do you change your handbag?
I have 3 handbags that I change and use as I fancy them.

What time do you get up and go to sleep?
I go to bed about midnight, but sleep is a thorny subject for me, I don't sleep well and it takes me a long time to get to sleep. I usually drag myself groggily out of bet about 9.

How often or when do you work out?
I don't really, unless I'm trying to lose weight.

Left handed or right handed?
Right handed.

How tall are you?
Around 5' 4, I think.

Do you speak a foreign language?
not really, despite 5 years of Welsh, 5 of German and 3 of French, I can't remember bugger all!

How many pets do you have?
I am not allowed pets where I live, but I have a god that lives with my parents.

Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
only a mental one, and most of the time I forget but that's what my amazing friend Laura is for, she always knows the key things going on in the beauty world.

How did you come up with your blog name?
I cant really remember, I know I wanted something with my name in it and I wanted something to show that it was me and all my thoughts and Christina's Way seemed right.

What kind of camera do you use for your photos?
I have a sony camera, a bog standard point and shoot that I use for my posts and I also use my phone a lot for instagram and fb ect, its just quicker sometimes.

How often do you clean your house?
I do a good deepish clean every week, with mini cleans to keep on top of it every few days, I do a spring clean in February and November.

Do you swear?
Yes, Like a trooper, not something that I'm proud of, but as my husband is chef it's hard to get away from it.

What is your favourite colour?
I love purple and it generally suits me too.

What are you doing with the rest of your day?
As its 1am and I'm doing this post because I can't sleep, I hope to get to sleep before half two and wake up early and work on more posts for the rest of the week tomorrow.

So, I hope your learnt more about me!
I TAG anyone who is reading this to do this! please let me know with a link to your page if you have I love to read more about you.

I have been on a bit of a spree today, between me and my friend we have pretty much bought the whole MUA range and have spent way more that we should have. I prob bought more make up today than I normally would in 6 months, but I love it all and cant wait to start the testing.
First off:- lipsticks, I picked up 3 MUA at £1 each, I asked my friend to choose 3 at random so ive got a nice dark red, a pink and a coral color, a Kate Moss in 110 for £5.99, which is a very nice coral and very similar to Party Parrot and finally a Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon which was on offer at £5.
I picked up some cheap BB beauty balm from MUA for £4, I normally use Garnier but though as all other MUA products are so decent, Id give this a shot too. I grabbed some pressed powder for £2 to help set my make up, i picked up shade 1. Also a cream blush for £2 in Yummy.
I picked up L'oriel Telescopic mascara for £10.99 hoping that it will be a close match to Diorshow and save me a bit of money. I have rimmel Gel eyeliner, but wanted something a cheaper for everyday wear, this little pot is £3. Finally Collection 200 Lasting perfection concealer, in desperate need of good concealer and this has been raved about.

ALSO........

I had to have these beautiful lace tops, one in white and one in a stunning wine red, they were in adsa for £10 each, but I kind of fell in love with them. I found a close ended scarf for only £2.50, and in black it will go with anything!

FINALLY.

2 more sleeps, one more day, last minute rush and the final calm before the storm. Christmas is almost here, as my friend has said this is Christmas Eve eve!

I love 6pm tomorrow night, when all shops (bar a few corner ones) close and if you haven't remembered or have missed something then its tough cookies, It's just time to relax and calm down and try and enjoy the few hours peace before Christmas day is upon you.

I will be (after a day of drinking and gossip with Laura) having a nice glass of baileys and trying to get ready for the next day where I have to drive over half the city, meeting family and doing different Christmas day activities such as going to church, trying goose for the first time, and stuffing my face with all the junk food I can (Plus lots of presents)

Right now bed is calling me and I can't wait til about 7pm where I get to open 1 present early, I am such a Child!

Picture
There are so many different traditions that people do, I have read many different ones and my favorite that I've heard is my friend who moves an elf statue around the house and tells the children that the elf will report to Santa and tell him if they are being naughty. This is fabulous and I may have to adopt this when I have any children.

My first Christmas tradition is putting the decoration up on 30th November ready for December. I don't know why this has come about, but it is what I do every year. My parents were not so strict with the date, but I am.
As soon as all the presents are wrapped they go under the tree, even if their for other people (this makes me look more popular than I am LOL). I always arrange to meet people to exchange presents within two week before Christmas, I can't abide doing it any earlier. this is just my nature, I feel that any sooner and it ruins the run up to Christmas. Though there is one particular friend (Laura) who would open them as soon as she got them so I do my best to get hers to her as close to the big day as possible, this year we are meeting up on Christmas eve.

My best friend and I (Laura - as mentioned above) also have a tradition of buying each other a Christmas Tree decoration each year, This way our decorations grow and we have our own personal story to tell, I would love to start doing this with more of my friends, but then it wouldn't be so special.

I always open one present on Christmas Eve, I never choose a big one, but just something to open to tease for the next day, My husband has embraced this tradition with some rather zealous enthusiasm as he is a giant kid. This has been a tradition for as long as I can remember, My parents used to pick the present for me, to make sure it wasn't my main present, but as an adult I now choose.

I still have advent calenders always given by my mother in law and I have to have a stocking. Once again the big kid was happy to adopt this. I love waking up about 7/8 and opening my stocking, and we always put on our Christmas hats and wear them until we have opened the gifts. Then while I adjust (as I'm not a morning person) Nick makes me a cup of tea/hot chocolate and turns all the lights on as I come into the living room. Then we start to open our presents, we always take turns one at a time and try and have fun and make it last as long as we can.

When I had a dog, we'd always give him the paper to play with, that was the dogs Christmas, paper to eat! After all the present fun, I start to prepare for dinner, peel & cut veg, get stuffing mix ready and normally start cooking about 11. With dinner/cooking comes some alcohol, normally Baileys or Disaronno and Coke an of course some Crackers, and then wear the stupid cracker hats for an hour or two.

These are my tradition and I'm sure there are many others that do this and more,
What are your traditions, I would love to hear what makes your Christmas special!

I have had a great week so far, I went out with my best friend Laura for her birthday and we achieved our goal of not getting drunk, just being merry. Our night consisted of cocktails, karaoke, dancing, food and fun. It was the first time we had ever gone out just the two of us and the first time in 6 months either of us had gone for a night out. For the occasion, I picked up a new dress and bought some alcohol so we could start the night off!

I love dooley's and hadn't seen it for about 5 years, as I went to morrisons to pick up Laura's Corkys, I spotted it and just had to buy it. Its like Baileys only its a toffee flavor, best served over ice, but still quite nice to drink on its own. It was always my go to drink on old nights out when i  was sick of alcopops and vodka.

I have wrapped all my Christmas presents and now only have a few left to do, the ones that I have only just bought. I only have 2 people left to sort out presents for and these are my mother in law and father in law. They have always been the hardest. My friend Karly has come up with an idea to make for my mother in law, but still need to find something else to get her as well. thank goodness I still have 4 weeks.

Once day I just could not face cooking so I ordered a chinese, It was a top up between that and an indian, but i decided on the chinese because they have a deal and my husband like the chicken balls, but likes nothing from and indian, the boring sod!

Other than that my week has consisted of keeping my flat tidy which I have failed miserably with, and I now have a cold that is slowly getting worse. roll on 6pm 22nd dec. This is my last shift over christmas and I go back on the 27th.

I am going out on Friday for my best friend Laura's birthday, and I have been looking in my wardrobe for the last week trying to decide what to wear. After checking my bank balance and finding it a bit healthier than i expected (how often does that happen) I decided to go look for a dress. Above is what I ended up buying.

My hair is shiny and new and I'm looking forward to letting my hair down. I don't know if I will wear the shoes by they were half price from F&F. At only £5 I decided to buy them anyway as I thought they are pretty cute. I found the Dress in Peacocks It was originally £22 but it had £5 off so I only ended up paying £17. It is a pretty tight fit but I love the floaty bottom/skirt as it will hide my fat. The detail on the top of the dress is pretty and as it is so close to Christmas this dress will also be good for any other parties or events that happen.

The red top I found in a charity shop before the dress, Its simple and pretty and I figured that if I could not find a dress I could at least wear something new at only £3  its a bargain. I needed a new bra and This one from Asda was £8 (i think) and though its pretty steep for a single bra I love the detail and it fits my large boobs well!

I also found this pink Jewelry/trinket box in the charity shop, its only £2 but I fell in love with it and will be putting all my bits in it tonight. The last pic is of a new christmas bauble I found in asda, I picked up 2, they are £2 each, but just cute and with the stars inside the ball, they are fun but pretty at the same time.

Bank balance back to normal now, so will enjoy my buys as they will prob be the last big spend I am able to give myself for a while :(
