For once the weather man has been right and we've had a nice influx of snow. 9 times out of 10 they say were going to have snow and we have literally 20 flakes and that is it.

I have a love hate relationship with snow, I love to play in it and it looks stunning but it increases the chance of me twisting my ankle or having an accident.

I love the way that silence falls when there is a thick layer of snow on the ground, everything sounds muted and quiet. the uniform white is pretty and bright and relaxing. The smell as well, snow is fresh and clean and pure.

A good snow storm is a great start to the year, all I hope is that it doesn't turn to ice!

I was reading a blog I follow and found this post and decided to do one of my own.
Thirty thing to do before I'm 30, as its only just over 3 years away I will not do an extravagant list, just a few simple things I would like to achieve. Some of them may take more than a few years to do this should really be a goal of 35 or 40 I think.

go to a west end show with Laura
buy £100 make up in one go
get an Ipad
go for a weekend away
do a murder mystery weekend
Improve my blog
Learn to play Keyboard again
Improve my singing
Read 100 books (will do that no prob)
Paint some feature walls in my home
Watch 100 Films (will achieve this one very easily too)
Loose 5 stone
buy more grown up clothes, less design pictures more plain items
actually start booking doctors appointments when i need them and not months later
Try something new like salsa dancing or karate
spend more time out doors on sunny days
buy more purple things for my home (its my fav color)
get to Cardiff at least 3 times a year
Go ice skating
Go to a beach and watch a sunrise
Drink more coffee, esp Starbucks
train my feet/strengthen my ankles so I can wear the 4 pairs of 6inch heels I adamantly keep
Visit a Zoo
Play a game from start to finish instead of getting bored half way through
Buy an item of clothing costing over £30
Start wearing earrings on a daily basis (and actually buy some)
Go Paint balling (don't care about the pain)
Buy a new car
Be more adventurous with food (and generally)
Actually write a letter of complaint about something that has upset me instead of moaning.

A lot are simple choices and some are going to take money, but most are doable and if not in the next three then in the next eight years.

I have been on a bit of a spree today, between me and my friend we have pretty much bought the whole MUA range and have spent way more that we should have. I prob bought more make up today than I normally would in 6 months, but I love it all and cant wait to start the testing.
First off:- lipsticks, I picked up 3 MUA at £1 each, I asked my friend to choose 3 at random so ive got a nice dark red, a pink and a coral color, a Kate Moss in 110 for £5.99, which is a very nice coral and very similar to Party Parrot and finally a Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon which was on offer at £5.
I picked up some cheap BB beauty balm from MUA for £4, I normally use Garnier but though as all other MUA products are so decent, Id give this a shot too. I grabbed some pressed powder for £2 to help set my make up, i picked up shade 1. Also a cream blush for £2 in Yummy.
I picked up L'oriel Telescopic mascara for £10.99 hoping that it will be a close match to Diorshow and save me a bit of money. I have rimmel Gel eyeliner, but wanted something a cheaper for everyday wear, this little pot is £3. Finally Collection 200 Lasting perfection concealer, in desperate need of good concealer and this has been raved about.

ALSO........

I had to have these beautiful lace tops, one in white and one in a stunning wine red, they were in adsa for £10 each, but I kind of fell in love with them. I found a close ended scarf for only £2.50, and in black it will go with anything!

FINALLY.

This was not bought by myself this is a very early birthday present from my best friend Laura, we were eyeing the pure pigments up before christmas but could not justify the money and oh how i love this pure gold, this one is incite and I can not wait to start playing around with it! Thank you you wonderful woman!

I haven't done a 'my week' post for ages so this one covers about 2 and a half weeks.
First I gave myself a french manicure, the first one in over a year and I also tried out my nail art kit, not the best result, but I'm happy for my first ever go.
I went out 2 times in the last week, and had lots of fun though one of those time resulted in my friend being asked if he had a 'Knife' I kid you not, It scares me what this world is coming to.
I have slowly started to master gel liner, and can draw a pretty decent line now, so I can say I'm pretty pleased with myself for that!
Some Baileys is essential for pretty much all occasions and I love to read about the up and coming films from total film magazine.
Dyed Lashes, new Kindle cover that is also a stand and starting to color in my Ryan Gosling Book. Great few weeks.
I also got a new tv and coffee table this week though my kindle still rules my heart!

A new year is a chance to take stock of what you did last year, weather you had a good or a bad year. It is the time we all look back and make goals/resolutions to change what we did not like to try and improve the year to come.

Life tends to get in the way, and I in particular, will not lie and say that I achieve my wishes. For me they normally last until March. I have recently been thinking (philosophy is not my strong point, so bare with me) that a lot of the times, I have noticed that we tend to focus on the bad things of the previous year.

We tend to make goals such as I want to loose weight, I want to stop smoking, I Will find a man, these are all things that are generally negatives that we perceived over the last year. I feel that we sometimes focus on ourselves to much, not to say that self-improvement is wrong, I'm saying nothing of the sort, all I am saying is that we always try to change ourselves and yet most of the time we fail by the middle of the new year. (to anyone who makes goals and achieves them, then I must say that I truly admire your will power)

Maybe its time we start looking at the good things, for example, if you made a new friend your resolution could be to be the best friend you could want to that person, if your family has been good to you, you could think of ways to show your appreciation. Just look at the good things and think on what you would like to continue to do for the next year.

All I am thinking is that a lot of the time making small changes stick more than big changes, so if we maybe made one big goal and the rest were positive things that we wanted to continue to bring into our lives then maybe, just maybe we wouldn't fail.

I am constantly re-arranging draws, shelves, changing things around to find better ways to organise things. What can you do to be organised?

First of all lists, I like lists but rarely do them, but from shopping to what housework need to be done to what tv/dvds you need to catch up on. A good list is the basic backbone of any organisation to be done.
When I do my big cleaning days I find them handy to ensure that I havent forgotten anything. I also love ticking things off, I do get a small thrill once its all done and you see a nice row of ticks to prove that you have accomplished your tasks.

Diary/Planner - whether this be your phone or a good old fashion book, Its the only way you can keep track of things. I tend to use my phone and a calendar. Birthdays are particulary difficult for me as bar a few, pretty much all my family and all my husbands family have birthdays jan - march and then I have a few friends in April, thankfully the rest are scattered throughout the year. But without a calendar or diary, I would have a clue of exact date. I have a great memory, and I can tell you the month and get the the date within 10 days, there are only a few people that I can remember exactly!

Don't be afraid to re-arrange, you may find that things work better than you think, I created a whole new draw space just by combining my make up, jewelry and nail stuff to one draw. If you can when it comes to clothes, don't let them build up, when you have a certain amount have a go through them. If like me, when you do, you will find at least 10 items that you no longer wear or are so out of style you could pass them to your grandparent! give them to charity if they are in good nick or turn them to rags for cleaning or for patching up other things if they are worse for wear!

Shelves/Boxes/Units - all can be a saviour to keeping you place tidy and organised, but with all items being pretty expensive it can be a case of building them up over time. have a look in charity shops, B&M bargains even sites such as freecycle to try and build up your furniture for cheap or for free.

try not to procrastinate, if something need to be done, get it done now not tomorrow or next week, it can help you in the long run.

I'm still a big novice in ways of applying make up, I have only just started to be able to apply liquid liner in almost decent way, But I wanted to give some tips on how to help with your make up, especially if like myself you are still learning.

first buy some decent brushes, especially get a blending, foundation and precision brush, Out of them all they are the main 3 that make applying your make up easier. you can pick up some pretty decent brushes for about £7 each, but sometimes it is cheaper to buy in a pack. Also always clean your brushes, if you apply make up everyday, I'd say its best to do it once a week, or once every two weeks at the most. If like me you tend to use make up on days out or weekends then once a month will be sufficient. I can not stress how much better a clean brush it for applying you make up.

Always use a primer, you can easily pick up a cheap one such as the MUA for as little as £3, they are not as fantastic or rich as benefit, for example, but they definately do the job and create a smoother surface to work with. They help to reduce or fill in pores, they create a great base for foundation and eyemake up, meaning it will stay on longer.

Try and use at least 3 colors when doing eye make up to create depth and color, It really does add dimention and regardless of the cheap product you use, it can make your make up look 10times better than just having a single color. Always blend the colors into each other (this is why a decent blending brush is so important), you can use your fingers but the result is never as smooth.

If you do your eyeliner and mascara before you do your make up, or even if you do it last, I always suggest to do a quick go over before you leave, making sure you mascara and eyeliner is strong is the best way to make you eyes pop.

Highlight. I never used to do/use it, I never saw the point in it, but now I say Highlight, highlight, highlight. invest in some benefit high beam (you can get tester pots online that last months) and once you have done your eyes and blush, run a think line on top of cheek bones, under eye brow and down side of nose and blend in with your finger. It really adds definition to finish any look, and give a lovely sheen when looked at from the right angle creating texture to you face so that if your going for a matte look, you don't look to plain!

These may seem silly, you may already know these tricks, I'm not an expert, but since I have started to get serious about make up these are the best little pieces of advice I can give to help finish a look.

Do you have any tricks or tips, would love to hear what has improved your make up routine?

Every Year, I make new years resolutions and I normally end up breaking them by the middle of Febuary!

This year I have decided to make my normal resolutions, but treat them as a goal more than a promise. I want to loose weight and to try and text my friends more, see certain people more and make more of an effort at keeping my place clean and tidy by doing things everyday.

Its strange to think that I don't text much, but I normally only text certain friends once a week, and I really want to break the habit of round robin text to everyone just saying hey how are you?

My place is never a pigsty or really dirty, I just seem to let certain things go and build up before i do them, like putting the washing away, there are 3 loads worth sitting on the spare bed that I need to sort out and put away. I will do this today. My bf Laura, lives her life by lists and as much as I love a good list I normally end up forgetting I even have one. Most of my lists are mental ones, that I tick off once its done!

My last goal is to just be more appreciative of everything, from a roof over my head, to a warm place, to my husband and friends to always having food in the cupboard. I feel ive taken a lot for granted lately and I want to start being less expectant at these things and more happy that I have them.
